...arrived in the mail this afternoon! The Boston Marathon issue of Runner's World came today (I know, I know, it's totally cheesy!), and I think I finally got the kick in the butt that I needed. I read the story of Katherine Switzer, and her determination to be the first woman to run the Boston Marathon (despite people literally trying to pull her off the course!)...she made it possible for other women to get out there and run, and damn it, now it's my turn!
It's time to get my ass in gear, so starting right now I'm going to do a much better job of training, including blogging about it. This is the official beginning of my push for a BQ, so if you've got anything that will help me, send it my way! I need all the help I can get!
My training goals for right now are pretty simple: Train for a half marathon with a (sub) 1:45 in mind, swim twice a week, and go to yoga at least once a week. And most importantly, eat right! I've got to get back in shape (less than 6 months ago I could do a 20-mile run and a 35-mile bike ride in the same day and barely bat an eye)!
Boston, ready or not, here I come!
